Varanasi, Oct. 2 -- The Samajwadi Party stepped up its outreach to traders and the Vaishya community, accusing the BJP government of promoting large corporations at the expense of small shopkeepers and businesses.

On the instructions of SP national president Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha, Uttar Pradesh, is organising divisional and district-level conferences across the state to connect traders and members of the Vaishya community with the party.

As part of the campaign, a PDA Business District Conference was held at the Shri Ram PG College of Commerce and Education campus on Paigambarpur-Panchakroshi Road here, with around 500 representatives from the business, Vaishya and Baniya communities participating.
