Lucknow, May 3 -- In the run for the crucial assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh early next year, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has decided to focus on smaller parties and bring them into their fold to add more caste to their PDA (Pichara, dalit, Alpsankhyak) formula.
Party officials have been assigned the task of engaging leaders from smaller parties, even if their existence is in one district only.
The state SP headquarters is personally overseeing this effort, and SP's goal is to expand its support base.
In the 2022 assembly polls, SP had included several smaller parties including Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) led by Om Prakash Rajbhar and Apna Dal ( Kamerawadi).
