Manoj BhadraLucknow, Aug. 16 -- With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections approaching in 2027, the Samajwadi Party is finalizing its strategy, aiming to replicate the social coalition that powered its success in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

As part of this strategy, the Samajwadi Party favors maintaining an alliance with the Congress, but is signaling a distance from MP Asaduddin Owaisi's party, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

The AIMIM has long expressed a desire to be part of an opposition alliance. Recently, it has once again proposed contesting elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) against the BJP.
