Seoul, Aug. 10 -- South Korea and the United States will conduct large-scale joint military exercises from August 17 to 27, focusing on emerging threats such as drone attacks, GPS disruptions and cyber warfare, officials said Monday.
The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) exercise will test the allies' ability to respond to realistic security scenarios while supporting South Korea's government-wide emergency preparedness drills, according to a joint statement issued by the two countries' armed forces.
The exercises will feature simulations of evolving threats and comprehensive joint operations designed to strengthen the readiness and capabilities of South Korean and U.S. forces.
