Bengaluru, June 3 -- As DK Shivakumar prepared to take oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on Wednesday, the Congress leadership projected a strong message of unity and confidence, with Sonia Gandhi personally reaching out to the Chief Minister-designate and senior party leaders rallying behind the new administration.
In a telephone conversation ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi congratulated Shivakumar on assuming the state's top office and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Karnataka.
