Colombo, Aug. 27 -- Sonal Dinusha stood between India and a series-clinching victory with a magnificent unbeaten 133 as Sri Lanka pulled off an unlikely draw in the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground here on Thursday.
India, who had enforced the follow-on after declaring their first innings at 503 for nine and bowling Sri Lanka out for 290, looked firmly on course for a 2-0 series sweep. But Dinusha produced a remarkable rearguard effort, batting through the final day to take Sri Lanka to 429 for nine and deny India the final wicket.
The draw gave India a 1-0 series victory, after their 165-run win in the opening Test at Galle.
