Mysuru, Aug. 5 -- Former Karnataka Legislative Council member H Vishwanath on Wednesday triggered a fresh debate over the Congress government's Cabinet expansion, claiming that senior leader Tanveer Seth was denied a ministerial berth due to his son's political role and influence in Mysuru district.
Vishwanath said it was unfair to keep Seth, a senior Congress leader and former minister, out of the Cabinet, but suggested that political considerations surrounding Mysuru had played a role in the decision.
"If Tanveer Seth becomes a minister, his son's position in Mysuru district would be affected. That appears to be one of the reasons behind his exclusion," Vishwanath said, without elaborating on the nature of the alleged political arrangem...
