New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Social media influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj was reportedly detained by Delhi Police in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr today, according to media agency reports, hours after the force assured that action would be taken against him over an alleged assault on the father of student activist Nishu Azad.
However, Delhi Police had not officially confirmed Bhardwaj's detention till the filing of this report.
The reported detention came hours after Delhi Police assured members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), who had been demanding action against Bhardwaj, that he would be arrested within 72 hours. Several police teams had been deployed to trace the influencer in Uttar Pradesh.
