Tridib BaparnashNew Delhi, June 15 -- Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana's sparkling half-century and a stunning five-wicket haul from star allrounder Deepti Sharma powered India to a commanding 64-run victory over Pakistan in their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Group A opener in Birmingham on Sunday.

After helping India post a formidable 170/6, Deepti returned with the ball to produce a match-winning spell of 5/10 as Pakistan were bundled out for just 106 in 17 overs.

The seasoned off-spinner first provided the breakthrough by dismissing openers Feroza Gull and Saira Jabeen before returning to claim three wickets in a single over and seal a comprehensive win.
