Kangra, Sept. 11 -- Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip, Kewal Singh Pathania, has directed authorities to prepare an early detailed assessment report on losses caused to beekeepers by the Small Hive Beetle, so that the issue could be taken up with the Chief Minister and Horticulture Minister for relief to affected beekeepers.
Addressing an awareness camp organised by the Horticulture Department at the Mini Secretariat here today, he directed the SDM, Shahpur, to get the damage assessed through patwaris of the concerned panchayats.
He said beekeeping was an important source of strengthening the rural economy and Kangra honey had earned recognition across the country.
