SLBC project to be completed by June 2028, worker safety top priority: Uttam Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad, July 6 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said the Alimineti Madhava Reddy Srisailam Left Bank Canal (AMR-SLBC) project, a long-pending irrigation project for South Telangana, would be completed by June 2028, while stressing that there would be no compromise on worker safety during tunnel construction.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat, the Minister said the government was expediting fund allocation, land acquisition and technical clearances to ensure timely completion. He directed officials to execute the SLBC tunnel, Dindi project, balancing reservoirs and canal network as an integrated project.
