Chennai, Sept. 2 -- The Madras High Court on Wednesday directed the police and the Chief Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) to respond to a petition filed by Kayalvizhi Alagiri, daughter of former DMK leader and union Minister M.K. Alagiri, seeking quashing of a criminal case registered against her for allegedly slapping a PSU bank Adyar branch manager in Chennai.
Kayalvizhi was booked by the Adyar police under four sections, including criminal intimidation, following a complaint that she had assaulted the SBI manager. She was arrested when she appeared for investigation and released on station bail.
