Araria, Oct. 11 -- Altogether six personnel of the Special Task Force (STF), Patna, were injured when a team that had gone to apprehend smack smugglers was allegedly attacked by smugglers and their supporters in Araria district this afternoon.
The incident took place near Thalha Canal on the Narpatganj four-lane highway. Two STF vehicles were also severely damaged. Reports indicated that around 10 rounds were fired during the confrontation.
According to police, the STF team had detained two accused persons from Deviganj based on information provided by a smuggler arrested in Katihar. The team subsequently reached the Khaira Gadhiya four-lane highway in connection with the recovery operation.
