Chandigarh, March 19 -- Punjab Police has busted a cross-border illegal arms smuggling module in Amritsar, arresting six persons, including a juvenile, and recovering seven sophisticated pistols, officials said on Thursday.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused were in contact with a foreign-based handler operating from Portugal. The network was allegedly involved in smuggling weapons from across the border using drones, which were later retrieved by the accused and supplied to criminal elements.
