Bengaluru, June 15 -- union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday questioned the financial sustainability of the Congress government's guarantee schemes in Karnataka and accused the state administration of failing to utilise Central assistance available for agricultural infrastructure projects, including warehouses and cold storage facilities.
Addressing a press conference at Devanahalli, Sitharaman said welfare promises should be backed by adequate fiscal resources and cautioned states against announcing schemes beyond their financial capacity.
