New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has pitched India as an attractive long-term investment destination for Canadian investors, highlighting the country's large market, strong economic growth, young population, rising consumption and expanding capital markets.

Addressing members of the Indian business community in Toronto, Sitharaman said India's growth story was being supported by structural changes such as rapid urbanisation, the expansion of the middle class and the development of digital infrastructure.

She said these factors were creating investment opportunities across a wide range of sectors and offered international investors a combination of scale and growth that was difficult to replicate.
