Shillong, Sept. 29 -- Meghalaya Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Sanbor Shullai on Tuesday asserted that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is vital to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining voting rights.
Accusing the Congress of 'spreading lies' to derail the ongoing SIR process, Shullai said that the Joint Press Note has conclusively proved that Congress and its I.N.D.I. alliance partners have been manufacturing lies to mislead the people of the country to create panic, sensationalism, and deceit.
Urging citizens not to "fall prey to false claims" of the Congress, the veteran BJP leader said that the Congress party "stands thoroughly exposed" in Meghalaya.
