Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2 -- Alleging a risk of wrongful deletion of genuine minority voters during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls, the BJD Minority Cell on Wednesday sought the Election Commission's intervention to ensure strict safeguards and due process in the exercise.
The delegation urged the Election authorities to issue strict directions to all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to prevent misuse of Form-7 for deletion of eligible electors, particularly after the Claims and Objections period ended on August 19.
