Mumbai, March 31 -- A fire broke out in the X-ray department of Sion Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, triggering panic among patients and hospital staff.

The blaze was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade, and no casualties were reported, officials confirmed.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 12 noon, following which emergency services were immediately alerted. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot promptly and extinguished the fire. Cooling operations were underway thereafter, and a detailed investigation has been initiated by the Sion Police Station to ascertain the exact cause.
