Paris, May 27 -- Men's and women's top seeds Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka advanced comfortably to the second round of the 2026 French Open, while Daniil Medvedev and Jessica Pegula suffered a shock opening-round exit.
Sinner eased past French wildcard Clement Tabur 6-1, 6-3, 6-4, extending his winning streak to30 matches.
The Italian was the biggest title favorite after defending champion Carlos Alcaraz withdrew due to injury.
