The two-time Olympic medallist looked in complete control as she defeated the fifth seed 21-16, 21-14 in just 35 minutes, extending her head-to-head record against the Chinese shuttler to 8-1.
Ranked 10th in the world, Sindhu had to work hard in the early stages of the opening game as Han Yue matched her point for point.
