Bengaluru, Aug. 25 -- A Bengaluru court has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar in connection with a defamation case filed by former BJP MP Pratap Simha over allegedly derogatory remarks made against him.

The warrant was issued by the Special Court for MPs and MLAs after Eshwar and his counsel failed to appear before the court during the proceedings, according to sources.

The case relates to remarks allegedly made by Eshwar during interaction with the media in Chikkaballapur on January 11, 2024.
