Siliguri, Sept. 6 -- Sikkim's final electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026, published on Sunday, recorded 4,18,467 electors, marking a reduction of 52,551 from the 4,71,018 electors on the roll before the revision.
The final roll comprises 2,12,534 males, 2,05,931 females and two third-gender electors. Before the SIR, the corresponding figures were 2,35,572 males, 2,35,444 females and two third-gender electors.
The SIR was conducted with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, following the Election Commission of India's directions. Enumeration Forms were distributed to all existing electors through Booth Level Officers. Of these, 4,33,242 (91.99 per cent) were returned, while 37,737 (8.01 per cent) were not received...
