Siliguri, May 15 -- Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for austerity measures and responsible governance, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Friday walked from his official residence to the secretariat to attend an official function.
Describing the gesture as a small but meaningful contribution towards public service and sustainability, the Chief Minister said walking not only helps conserve public resources and fuel but also promotes a healthier lifestyle, aligning with the vision of a fitter, healthier and happier Sikkim.
The chief minister set out on foot from his official residence Mintokgang, and reached the seat of power Manan Kendra. After the programme was over, he walked back to Mintokgang.
