Bengaluru, July 20 -- Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Centre over the use of tear gas and baton charges against protesters marching towards Parliament in New Delhi, accusing the government of crushing democratic dissent instead of answering the country's youth.
Reacting to the police action against demonstrators demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities and other issues, Siddaramaiah said the Narendra Modi government had chosen "repression over responsibility" and was treating young Indians as enemies for seeking justice.
