Bengaluru, May 30 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday claimed that Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar would begin his tenure with a "hanging sword" over his government, alleging that the continuing influence of outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah could create a parallel power structure within the Congress.
Seeking to frame the leadership transition as more than a routine change of guard, Bommai argued that the real challenge before Shivakumar would be managing internal power equations rather than confronting the Opposition.
