Bengaluru, July 29 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday demanded the immediate removal of union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of entrusting the country's education system to a leader whose views, he alleged, were shaped by RSS ideology and whose past stand on the Bilkis Bano convicts was "deeply disturbing".

Launching a blistering attack in a post on X, Siddaramaiah said Karnataka should have celebrated the elevation of one of its MPs to the Education Ministry, but instead "Kannadigas have been left ashamed" by Joshi's appointment.
