Bengaluru, Aug. 13 -- The first Assembly session under Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar opened on Thursday amid visible signs of unease in the ruling Congress, with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah staying away and several disgruntled legislators also absent from the House.
Siddaramaiah's absence assumed significance as he remained at his Kauvery residence in Bengaluru instead of attending the opening day of the Monsoon Session. Though there was no official confirmation that his absence was linked to the recent Cabinet expansion, it has fuelled speculation within political circles about discontent over the reshuffle.
