Bahraich, April 28 -- In a major anti-corruption crackdown, a senior sub-inspector posted at Motipur police station in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district was arrested on Tuesday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused officer, identified as Suresh Chandra Giri, was caught red-handed near the main gate of the police station by an Anti-Corruption Organization team. Following his arrest, he was taken to Nanpara Kotwali, where a case was registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and further legal proceedings were initiated.
