Bengaluru, May 21 -- The Shivamogga Wildlife Division has imposed a strict ban on public entry to the Sakrebailu Elephant Camp as Karnataka intensifies safety measures across its wildlife tourism centres following the recent fatal incident at the Dubare Elephant Camp in Kodagu.
Officials said the temporary restriction at Sakrebailu is part of a wider precautionary response triggered by rising concerns over human-elephant interactions in captive environments, where tourists are allowed close access during activities such as bathing and feeding.
