Bengaluru, June 15 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday ruled out any rollback of the Congress government's flagship guarantee schemes, asserting that the welfare programmes would continue uninterrupted, while announcing that beneficiaries would soon be required to possess proper photo identification to ensure benefits reach eligible recipients.

Addressing reporters here, Shivakumar said the move was aimed at streamlining the delivery of benefits and preventing misuse, following reports of payments being credited to incorrect accounts due to discrepancies in beneficiary details.
