Bengaluru, Aug. 3 -- Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday began personally telephoning Congress legislators handpicked for ministerial berths, signalling the end of nearly two months of political uncertainty, hectic lobbying and high-voltage negotiations that preceded the expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet.
The calls came after the Congress high command, led by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, cleared the final list following marathon consultations in New Delhi, paving the way for the induction of 20 ministers and taking the Council of Ministers to its full strength of 34.
