Shimla, June 8 -- : Sports infrastructure in Shimla received a significant boost on Monday with the inauguration of a Rs 3.18-crore multipurpose sports stadium at Sanjauli, alongside announcements for further development of the historic sports ground and measures aimed at promoting sports and drug-free youth engagement in the state.
The newly constructed stadium, inaugurated by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh, features an open sports ground, a hall, an open hall, a kitchen and other amenities designed to support sporting and community activities.
The occasion also marked the launch of Himachal Pradesh's first Chitta Awareness Volleyball Tournament, organized as part of the International Summer Festival, Shimla.
