Shimla, March 16 -- The preventive detention of an accused allegedly involved in an inter-state drug trafficking network has been extended following the recommendation of the Himachal Pradesh State Advisory Board constituted under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, 1988.

According to the Shimla district police, Aryan, son of Subhash and a resident of village Mihani, in Kotkhai tehsil of Shimla district, had earlier been detained under a government order dated January 23, 2026.

The order directed that he be kept in preventive custody for three months at the District Sub Jail, Kaithu, Shimla, for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking activities.
