Greater Noida, Oct. 7 -- Shaurya Bhattacharya produced a composed six-under 66 to seize a two-shot lead on the opening day of the Vishwa Samudra presents Kapil Dev Invitational Tour Championship powered by NALCO at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort here on Wednesday.
Bhattacharya, 23, made an immediate statement with birdies on his first two holes and never allowed the pressure of a long day and changing playing conditions to disrupt his rhythm. The three-time DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) winner eventually signed for seven birdies and just one bogey.
