Lucknow, April 25 -- Uttar Pradesh is currently in the grip of intense heatwave conditions.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding intense heat in the western and eastern parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, relief from the heat is expected after April 27.

Seven cities in the state were among the hottest in the country, with maximum temperatures exceeding 43degC. These include Varanasi (44.3degC), Hamirpur (44.2degC), Sultanpur (43.8degC), Aligarh (43.4degC), and Fursatganj (43.1degC).

However, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Prayagraj at 45.2degC, close to the district's all-time April record (46.8degC, April 29, 2022). Banda recorded a temperature of 44.2degC...
