St Petersburg, June 3 -- Several people were injured in St Petersburg, following a Ukrainian drone attack targeting the city and surrounding areas overnight, according to Russian officials. The attack came as Russia opened its flagship international investment forum attended by thousands of delegates from around the world.

St Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov said the UAVs targeted infrastructure in the Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky districts as well in the port of Kronstadt, in a post on Telegram on Wednesday morning.

Response teams have been deployed to the facilities damaged by the attacks, he added.
