Kanpur, April 12 -- In a shocking incident, seven silver crowns were stolen from the Shri Siddhi Vinayak Ganesh Temple located at Ghantaghar crossing on Saturday morning.
The temple management has filed a complaint with the police, and an investigation is currently underway, police disclosed on Sunday.
According to temple caretaker Sudhir Gupta, eight idols of Lord Ganesha are installed on the second floor of the temple, each adorned with a silver crown.
When he visited the temple on Saturday evening, he discovered that crowns from seven of the idols were missing. The estimated value of the stolen crowns is around Rs 3 lakh.
