Dhaka, Sept. 12 -- Amid the widespread surge of measles infections in Bangladesh, seven more people died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the combined death toll from confirmed and suspected cases to 1,019, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Over 100 died from confirmed measles infections, while 919 died from measles related symptoms.

The DGHS also reported 855 new hospital admissions involving patients with measles symptoms during the 24-hour period from Friday morning to Saturday.
