Chhapra, June 26 -- Police rescued seven minor girls from different orchestra groups during raids under separate police station areas in Saran district and arrested one person for allegedly forcing them to work in the troupes.
Police said here today the raids were conducted by the district''s Women Police Station and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) following directions from the Additional Director General of Police (Weaker Sections) and the National Human Rights Commission. Acting on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Vineet Kumar, a special police team headed by the officer-in-charge of the Women Police Station carried out searches in the Marhaura and Khaira police station areas.
