Banka, Aug. 9 -- union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai Sunday said that Shravan Mela was not merely a festival of faith and devotion, but also an occasion to demonstrate service, dedication and social participation.
He said, "Serving lakhs of Shiva devotees who arrive from different parts of the country is itself a virtuous act. Service to devotees is the true worship of Lord Shiva."Rai visited a service camp organised by the Bol Bam Seva Samiti at Tona Pathar on the Kanwariya route in Katoria, Banka, and personally joined volunteers in serving devotees undertaking the annual Kanwar pilgrimage to Baba Baidyanath Dham.
