Chengannur (Kerala), June 3 -- Serious concerns have been raised over the alleged illegal dumping of septic tank waste into the Utharappally River at Kodukulanji in Alappuzha district of Kerala, with local residents and elected representatives claiming that the pollution has reached alarming levels and is posing a threat to public health and the environment.
According to residents living along the riverbanks, septic tank waste is being discharged into the river during the night by unidentified operators.
