Siliguri, June 13 -- : The body of senior Trinamool Congress leader Ainul Haque, a member of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, was found on Saturday morning.
Family members reportedly found him hanging at his residence and rushed him to Phansidewa Rural Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
It is suspected to be a case of suicide.
As news of his death spread, local residents, supporters and acquaintances gathered at the hospital.
Personnel from Phansidewa Police Station reached the spot and later sent the body to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Haque was a well-known Trinamool Congress leader in the region and had been elected to the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad for three consecutive terms.
