Siliguri, July 17 -- union Minister of State for Education and former West Bengal BJP president Dr Sukanta Majumdar on Friday said the party would not induct grassroots Trinamool Congress leaders into the BJP, but senior leaders or public representatives could be welcomed if doing so served the "national interest."Speaking to reporters at Bagdogra Airport ahead of union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to West Bengal, Dr Majumdar said the BJP's guiding principle was "Country first, party second." He added that larger national interests sometimes required setting aside narrower political considerations.

"Implementing the Women's Reservation Bill is an urgent necessity in the larger interest of the nation," Dr Majumdar said.
