Thiruvananthapuram, June 30 -- Senior journalist M.G. Radhakrishnan has raised serious concerns over the alleged bureaucratic ordeal faced by R. Rajagopal, former Editor of The Telegraph, whose name was deleted from the electoral rolls in West Bengal, leaving him unable to vote and subsequently stalling the renewal of his passport.
In a strongly worded Facebook post, Radhakrishnan, who worked with various print and electronic media organisations, said the case highlights the difficulties ordinary citizens could face if deprived of their voting rights and questioned whether Rajagopal's predicament was linked to The Telegraph's persistent criticism of the BJP.
