Nagpur, Aug. 30 -- : A senior citizen out on a morning walk was killed after being hit by a speeding SUV allegedly involved in a race with two other cars near Japanese Garden in Nagpur on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Kailas Sanodiya, a resident of Awasthi Chowk in Nagpur, was out for a morning walk when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary information, three cars were travelling at high speed on Japanese Garden Road and were suspected to be racing.
During the incident, the driver of a taxi-numbered Innova allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which struck Sanodiya before crashing into the boundary wall of the garden.
Sanodiya sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
