Mulugu, April 21 -- Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Tuesday criticised BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao over his remarks on the 'Rythu Bharosa' scheme, accusing the previous regime of delays in disbursing farmer assistance (Rythu Bandhu).

Addressing the media in Mulugu, she said that during the BRS government, 'Rythu Bandhu' payments were often delayed by five to six months and were never released in a single phase.

She pointed out that in the 2018 Yasangi season, disbursement took as long as 161 days, while in 2022-23 it took 148 days.

"Instead of making claims about past efficiency, he should verify the actual timelines," she said.
