Kolkata, March 26 -- The administration strengthened security to ensure peaceful Ram Navami processions across West Bengal on Thursday.
Administration sources indicated that there would be heavy security arrangements and that strict guidelines were in place to prevent untoward incidents.
Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariala chaired a video conference at Nabanna on Wednesday evening where all district magistrates (DMs), superintendents of police (SPs), and commissioners of police (CPs) and senior state officials were present.
The meeting was also attended by the home secretary, director general of police and other top officials to review the law-and-order situation ahead of the festivities.
