Mumbai, Sept. 12 -- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) officially announced here on Saturday that it has proposed two alternative trading schedules for the closing auction session (CAS) and equity derivatives market, as part of a review process aimed at improving liquidity, transparency and price discovery.
The SEBI has invited public comments on these proposals mentioned in its consultation paper, until October 3, 2026.
According to the norms proposed under 'Option A', normal trading in stocks eligible for the closing auction session (CAS) would continue until 3:30 pm.
The closing auction session would resume from 3:31 pm to 3:40 pm, while trading in the futures and options (F&O) segment would remain open until 3:45 pm, a...
