Puri, June 29 -- Braving the high humidity, an unprecedented number of devotees exceeding over six lakhs thronged the grand road of this pilgrim city on Monday to witness the grand royal bathing ceremony and "Hati Vesh ", of lord Jagannath,his elder Balavadra and their sister Devi Subhadra of Sri Jagannath temple.
The royal bathing ceremony is popularly called as Snan Purnima, which is considered a major ritual prelude to the famous Car Festival or Rath Yatra of the lords.
Daita servitors, on Monday early morning, escorted the Trinity from Ratna Simhasan to the Snan Vedi in a ceremonial Pahandi procession procession amidst chants of Jai Jagannath and placed them on their respective seats.
